74 Challenger with twins

Every plan has a detour.
Plan was to hang VA unit and put a final end this rats nest and locate fuse and relay block.
Detour ended up being the AC and heater hose plumbing as the large diameter hoses will dictate their routes.
Heater hoses will exit firewall using factory holes.
AC lines will exit via bulkhead to inner fenderwell as pictured.
AC lines and fittings are on order.
Heater control valve will mount on the fresh air block off plate.
ECU will locate with bracket on side near passenger kick panel.
Fuse and relay block will locate on transmission hump under a custom center console.
Cannot wait until this rats nest is finally gone. Bulk of wiring will be shortened by more than 3 feet.
Then loomed proper.

File this in the not currently necessary but is fun column.
Iteration #5 for the cold air intakes design.
Versions 1 - 2 shown in this thread.
Version #3 I designed but did not like had a Fratzog "floating" in the center with the horizontal ribs.
Version #4 was the same ribs shown. But their spacing was the same 3/4" as the grill. Liked the idea but was too much.
This pictured iteration has ribs that mimic the grill. But are spaced further apart.
IMHOP much cleaner looking.
Silver ABS that does just look light grey.

I like the look better now.

However, If may inject my opinion.

I don't like the top and bottom fins.
Although they do give a little more look to the louvers I feel that they do cause some loss of air speed.  They cause the outer round to not allow air into the hole.  The air has to go around those and therefore render the upper and lower portions of the circle useless aside from the look of course.

Good point on the upper and lower ribs trapping air.
They are staying as is for time being. But I will model some more changes to see if they end up "pleasing".
Removal of top and bottom ribs and spacing the remaining to recreate some balance.
I also could retain all as shown but tweak the surfaces to create opening above and below them.

Been a long time coming. 3 basketball games remaining for my daughter.
14 years of watching her. Bittersweet for sure. 6th year of college finishing  masters in business.
Not preferred, but will have more time to knock this out finally. "Deadline" for roadworthy is about 180 days for a car show up in our local mountains of Big Bear.

A/C lines for under dash made. Heater hose lines figured out. Will finalize when unit is mounted again.
Bent up and mounted a bracket to hold heater control valve and ECU.
Added 90° bulkheads for heater hoses.
Designed and 3D printed a firewall block off plate for old heater motor opening. Has integrated neck for wiring pass thru. Split in half for assembly.
Wiring will get wrapped with closed cell foam and the neck will be loomed closed.
Finally am now cleaning up the wiring inside cabin.

Vintage Air unit hung with a/c and heater hoses connected up to firewall.
Heater hoses connected @ firewall.
Finishing of a/c lines are for future endeavor. Duct hoses now also installed.

Cabin wiring mostly complete now. Not perfect visually but is proper and safe.
Dash guages, GPS and 120v power to be completed next.
Fired right up, confirming all the re-wiring is proper.
Switch plate cap on console is only temporary. Finished console will be vinyl wrapped. Top cap will be inset slightly and covered with woodgrain similar to factory.

Hoping now to test drive this next weekend.

I really like the way you are trying to tie the appearance together. Reminds me of the Big Lebowski. "That rug really tied the room together"...lol

I do enjoy the process. And yes significant filament purchases have ensued.
Challenger is still long term for overall completion. Will enjoy for a bit. In a year(ish) I will replace current tired motor for a fresh one prepped for boost.
When I retire in about 4 years I plan on painting it.

Starting and finishing partial upgrades is exactly what I have been doing for years to keep it driveable. Tore my Mustang down to restore it for a couple years. 20ish years later I drove it again. Vowed not to do that with this one.
Time came when when the exhaust needed to be redone. Started another temporary patch for it. Was under car and the light bulb went off. Decided then that what ever I touched from then on was going to be finished. Pulled exhaust, welded in frame connectors, re-ran new fuel lines, finished turbo headers and finally the exhaust. Of course that leads to the next 1000 items I had planned for this build.
Really pushing now for the Spring Fling in Van Nuys Ca in May.
Been 3 years and still only about 50/50 on making that one.
August in Big Bear Ca. is primary goal.

Dash posted in the other thread now installed. Plugged in, added fuses and all seems to be properly functioning.
With the "excitement" still fresh, I moved on to center console. Switch plate housing modeled and 3D printed. Final surface finishing TBD.
Actual switch plate will be removable.
Then started to rough in the remaining plate. Once fit, it will get cup holders and covered with same woodgrain as dash panel has. Console body will eventually be vinyl covered.
Getting seriously close to putting some debugging miles on it.
