Just back this evening from my upholstery shop  :veryexcited: TOP THAT OFF EH !!! Scott Davis did a wonderful job installing the new convertible roof :) :worship:

The car is still on the trailer, because early tomorrow morning it's off to the exhaust shop to get a custom fabricated 2.5" stainless steel exhaust

If you don't mind sharing what does a new convertible top run these days?
I'm interested in a buying survivor car that every time I've seen it, the top is down.  I'm suspicious it's needing replacement and want to be forewarned on prices if the top needs replaced.

The top kit with a glass back window is not that much....Looking at my records, I paid $715 CDN ALL IN with taxes shipping from FLA etc....That's like $500 USD  :dunno:  I also bought a new pump, hoses, cylinders, bushings, well liner and boot....

I paid my guy $1800 for the install though... again CDN $1260 USD roughly

I have an account and get a slight discount from these guys, I bought everything except the boot from them

My body shop sent me these teaser pics today :wowzers:  :drooling: :drooling:....APPARENTLY....they have time to do work for other people too... :steamingmad:

Although in September they are gearing up to have three of my cars in their shop at the same time.. and a fourth one once the 70 Charger is painted in December...that will be fun  :takemymoney:

Seriously, this is my first experience having custom 2.5" Stainless exhaust made for a car...I don't know if it's a good job with nothing to compare it to....but I really like it ....not sure what it will sound like... :dunno:

I'm curious why you went with a custom system. Don't companies like Magnaflow, etc that already have plug and play systems?

Great question...Last year when I was doing that black Challenger I could not get the TTI tail pipes to work around the custom RMS rear syspension.
(others say they have, but mine wasn't going to fit no way no how) Plus this stainless system was cheaper then the TTI regular metal system :dunno:

Looks great!

That's a plus to get a "custom" made system for cheaper than tti's non stainless system.
Sounds like tti is charging too much.

Our main issue with TTI is just the shipping/border crossing/taxes/exchange rate, etc....the cost gets outrageous

Mr Cuda

Spending money never quits does it?

The new hemi with fuel injection  should run pretty smooth,  but my concern about the welded mufflers has always been the kettle drum sound.
Building a 2.5 stainless system  right now with various sizes of pass through and bullet mufflers and x pipe .  The challenge is getting the volume of noise down.
Again,  making the rest of us look bad...

Fingers crossed it's pretty quite, that's what I asked for and why I added resonators  :dunno:

So this is what I was after, a nice clean un-cluttered interior....Modern upgrades without the in your face custom stuff...no TV screens, cup holders or custom consoles, in fact no rattlely original console either....The only thing I'm not 100% happy with is the rear seat, the idea is what I wanted, but it wasn't executed very well....think I may have it re-done over the Winter if it continues to bug me that much...

Thanks to Bards70 for suggesting the steering wheel and manufacturing the adaptor for me, I do think it looks like a modern Tuff Grip wheel...

Short list of things left to do:
Bleed brakes
Bleed clutch
4 wheel alignment
Charge AC
Safety Inspection
Insurance

Hit the key yesterday and it fired right up :dunno: didn't run it long, or even above an idle....I prefer to have a clutch and brakes first, before I worry about it running

PWR Top switch from PG Classics already failed and needs to be replaced, but currently out of stock of course... :headbang:
