Thirty some years ago when I got into this hobby we didn't see many Mopars around my area, mostly just in magazines...I owned a 72 Barracuda and headed to The Mopar Nationals in Ohio to buy parts for it  back in 1987....That first night, at the burn out contest in the Knights Inn parking lot off of Brice Road, I spotted my "Dream" car...in my mind the ultimate Cuda....Having never seen an AAR in real life before I was in love...
The car that night was a B5 blue AAR Cuda in B5 blue interior and a four speed... To this day I would still love to have one... :drooling:

Fast forward to today....I've restored more E Bodies than I care to count, even a few AAR's but today it happened....

Today I received a deposit to do a full ground up restoration on a B5 Blue AAR, with B5 interior and a four speed... :andyangel:

Don't know a lot of the details only that the owner is in California and the car will be coming here right after Carlisle...
Here's a sneak peek...I don't have a lot of pictures...
I've taught you everything you know....but I haven't taught you everything I know....

Congrats Alan!  You will certainly do this car justice!

That's gonna be awesome Alan, can't wait to see that one get started.  I'm a huge FT6 fan on an AAR but Blue on Blue 4spd is my next choice.   :bigthumb:

I wish you were doing that one for yourself.  Sounds like a great one to dump money into.

Wow, that's a hell of a story Alan! Make sure you put a wee towel on the seat when you drive it in, eh?  ;)
In the immortal words of Jimmy Scott- "pace yourself!"

:inlove:  Can't wait to see this one all done.   :inlove:

always cool when you get to see something in person for the first time you've only seen in magazines.  Everyone remembers the first girl ya hooked up with, the first mopar ya owned, the first pedigree Mopar ( 6bbl car, convert, ect) or the first Hemi experience .  Funny enough I think about these in reverse as I mentioned them.   Sweet ride man I'll be watching for updates.

72 Challenger

I trust you will be documenting this on here as usual!
Someday I will have a J0b.

cool deal Alan!

did this car live it's life in California? If so probably not hiding much rust once blasted ::) haha

You really need to scan your old film photos of the Mopar shows from back in the day, not many guys were taking a lot of car show pictures back then.
@ErikR this car is 35 miles from you currently.

I have ten photo albums full of pictures from 1986 -1999....but no scanner

I have a scanner but found a much faster way. Find a place with good even lighting tape the picture on a wall and  use a decent quality camera and just take a digital photo of the original picture. A tri pod is a big help if you have one. Using this method you will be able to shoot 10 pictures in the time it takes to scan 2.

:wrenching: My two favorite colors for AAR's B5 and TX9

I have a few albums of shots Rick (RIP) sent me from the eastern CCOA shows and Red Deer shows as well. My computer sux for transferring photos from the scanner though. Maybe I'll post a few on the weekend. There's some real interesting stuff. Probably most of the cars are on the forum today but look a bit different.

I know who's car that is. Obviously was able to close the deal with the owner in NY if you got a deposit to do the car.
