Ahhhhhhhh.... the shipping tie-down brackets!

I was wondering if that was what you were referring to, but me being the noob when it comes to such good restorations (like yours always are)......

Heater box cover looks mint. Was it original to the car? Restored or just never cracked?

So the interior side of the firewall is finished, with the exception dash of course. I left the dash out so I can run the front drain tubes and wiring for the sunroof at a later date.

Tip #1 Again I like to make sure everything behind the dash is finished before I move on. All the brake pedal linkage is tight holes drill (prefer before paint) for the reverse wire and pedal switch wire, etc.... Nothing worse then working "under" the dash later.

Tip #2 I like putting the heater cables on the box first, but some people prefer dash first, doesn't really matter.

Tip #3  The defroster vents go in last so you can tighten up the bolts on the pedal assembly.

Firewall side done too. Nice to get everything installed before the engine, and again nothing left unfinished...Wiper transmission arms, wiper motor, cowl vent screens done....
Tip #1 there's a 1 3/8" plug behind the power brake booster for the windshield washer hose on a manual car....BEST to install the plug before the power brake booster.

Tip # 2 make sure all brake lines are tight.

Unfortunately I found bad threads on this rebuilt master, so it will be back to the machine shop to see if they can be repaired. :tired:

I like to put everything in the engine compartment and on the underside of the hood....nothing worse then leaning over the fenders later. Today I didn't have the proper screws for the hood scoop inserts, so they'll have to wait.

So, if you have the rear end done, both sides of the firewall, you might as well throw on the rear wheels and jack up the front of the car...

...and before you know it, you'll have the complete engine, transmission, front suspension all taken care of  :clapping:


Next up will be finishing up the suspension, torsion bars etc.....but that's another day....


Sad thing is....my customer paid less than a grand to get all this assembly done  :crying: :rofl: no wonder I'm broke.. :rofl:
