I recently acquired this Challenger to restore.  Im a pretty good paint and body guy and have done some nice work in the past. I will have many questions on certain restoration specific items.  I also have learned some of the parts may be hard to come by.  I will need a headliner board for sure. The rear se panel is damaged.   The car has been sitting since 1981 I have the original engine and purchased car from a guy that owned it since 1976 and he still had the title. He bought it from original owner.  I paid 9k.
The trunk extensions  and wheel wells seem solid   , trunk pan rusted but ive replace those before.  floors have small holes.  Frame rails are solid.  My wife enjoys working on them too so that is a big blessing.  This site seems great, thanks   Car also had factory ac, disc brakes  luggage rack  top Bannana yellow. I was told it was a dealer promo car  build date of october 1969. I cant prove that but kind of makes since but doesnt really matter.  Let me know what you think and thanks for any advice.

More pics...   and the last one I did many years ago   was a white 318 car.  I had to replace a LOT of metal on it.  won some shows which was cool but Havent done a restoration like I want to do on this one so bare with me please ...    The guy did have it up on blocks  LOL   last pic is how I found it after the storm blew tarp off.

Fantastic project and you got a title from 1976!!!  That doesn't happen much these days.  Super cool and I love that color.  Anytime you can get a high impact color it's a good thing.  Looks like you have a wonderful family too.  Thanks for sharing the photos.   :clapping:

Dayclona makes a fibreglass SE headliner. The SE tail trim comes up for sale from time to time. All the SE pieces can be problematic to find. SE specific beltline trim, vinyl roof trim, overhead console, wiring, light, rear window trim etc. Hopefully it is all there. You got it for a good price by the sounds of it.

Is there anyone that restores the se tail panel trim ?   its not horrible  but bent up on the ends. Kind of smashed flat on each end. I do have most of the trim like the vinyl top  rear window,  overhead console and wiring still in place ect.    He called the other day and said he found some more trim to come come get it.   Top of door? I believe thats what he described,  said he found se emblems too.  He has another door he bought many years ago but the barn fell in the storm, You can see it in there but cant get to it yet.  He said he will and give me a call. His house was condemed by FEMA after the tornadoes so a lot going on for him.  Ill need a back seat  he had pulled it out and left it outside so to far gone.   Had the hounds tooth interior.

I think I have 2 extra rear SE trim panels if you get to that point and still have not found someone to restore the one you got.

If you are doing a correct restoration you will need the 2229171 master cylinder. It was a one year only MC on E body disc brake cars. After markets MC are available but do not look correct. They are pricey so if your lucky you might still have yours.

Ill post a pic.  Can you buy a rebuild kit if needed?  Brakes are all still on and together.  Car only shows 27000 miles.  again has not been drivin since 1981.

Is this one correct and can I rebuild it?

Is this the correct 1970 hood?  It doesn't have the crash relief points. I can see the original color under the orange (it was painted orange at some point) so it seems like it is the original since it is top banana yellow and appears to be a 70 hood.  Tks for your feedback.  Just want to do this the right way.

So, today, the original owner contacted me.  I dropped what I was doing to go meet him since he said he found some chrome pieces. I am so glad that I did.  I now have the SE trim for top of the doors and qtr window pieces, fender and hood lip. Also gave us SE emblems but they are pretty rough.

70 hood, that's at least $1k worth of moldings along with the time it would take to find them.
