Get some lights and take some good pics underneath the car.  There are tons of people on this site who are very wise and will offer great advice.

You may be able to get your money back, and spend more money on a better start.  Unless you can do a lot of the metal work yourself I am certain you are going to spend a fortune on this one.

I am usually very optimistic but ebodies are super expensive to restore and this looks like a rough start.

Heck I'd pay $1100 for a rusted out 70 Challenger if it had a vin tag. You really can't lose. There is bound to be lots of things you could cut out and use on a different car....metal stuff that's not reproduced. Plus if it were parted out, I'm sure there are a lot of little things that could be sold to recover the $1100. Every one of these cars seems to rust out a little different. Just because the roof structure is rotten is no guarantee the rest of it is. I think that's where you can benefit from stripping to a shell and assessing what's bad and what could be used in some way or sold.

@WhyohWhy was this car by chance F8 color coded?  Is the fender tag in tact?  I have an F8 project and am doing some detective work to stay original.  Even if it were an F4, I'd be curious.  A post of your fender tag would be nice.
