More from underneath...

You can see the right muffler bracket bolted to the frame

The left rear here.  Undercoating on the muffler bracket makes me think "original", but it's contrary to what I hear for a '72

Wow...that's very interesting, I've never seen anything like that, and it appears to be factory  :drunk:

Rear frame rails not looking good here

Looks like someone yanked on the frame with a "hook"

Mrbill426

Rear bumper and valance removed...you can see some prior patchwork on the lower quarter.  There was "mud" applied in the seam between the valance and quarter too.

I wish these cars could talk !! Man the stories !!

Mrbill426

Ha ha haaa I bet!  This one was bought for a daughter on her way  :driving:  off to college so who knows.  When she wanted to let it go her parents bought it back, maybe via a body shop  :notsure:

Right side radiator support replacement, back to a 26" radiator opening.  Yes we removed the inner fender aprons; they were too far gone.

Ha! Going together already, that's what we like. I would be tempted to buy that complete jig welded clip they sell for the back end.

Well sort of, at least the inner fenders replaced.  Then on to a stripping to find out what really lurked beneath all the paint "mud"...

:wrenching:

Getting down to the real damage.  Our Cuda tells her story

Lots of prior patchwork here

Quarters really a mess

No clue what that substance is

Upper trunk lip; both corners were bad

Trunk lid seams shot
