What a great post, amazing cuda in all aspects. Really like hearing that you and your wife are a "car couple".

Enjoy the miles of smiles!

IRON MAN

Your story reminds me of a fairy tale that came true, by Hans Christian Andersen. A homely duckling is found by a farmer in a barnyard. It grows up to be a  beautiful swan and grows wings and takes to flight with a new beautiful family. WELL DONE!

MoparDave

@nsmall  you did very well and have accomplished what many cant. The Cuda turned out great and you should be proud of that. Glad I was able to help a little and thanks for the compliment.

Warning !! This is very addictive , you will be wondering what to do with all your spare time now !!
First go get some sleep !!
Then drive the wheels off the Cuda  :cooldance:   :stayinlane:
What a great accomplishment , Great job on building you first Mopar  :bravo:

Thanks for all of the kind words folks.  This hobby is sick as I love restoring parts and Chryco's right, what am I supposed to do now?

I actually was more sad vs relieved towards the end.    I really dont have any other car goals so I guess I will have to wait until the kids finish college and get another then????....if I can wait.

Great job @nsmall 11 months is impressive. Really like that color and the wheels look great.

I know all about doing one of these in a small place so my hats off to you. Being you first car you must be proud and you should be.  :1place:

WoW!  :perfect10:

Very nice car and accomplished so quickly. You must be real proud!
Thanks for the progress pics - it is inspiring for some of us with work to do on our cars.
Awesome color and love the wheels. Do you mind me asking what they are and what size tires?

Great job, and such a short period of time. Wow, very impressive and to have your family involved is priceless.
Get in, I'll drive

You should be extremely proud of yourself.  You weren't afraid to ask questions and get other people's opinions. You have built one heck of a nice Cuda.  Those wheels/tires look like they were made specifically for that car IMO.  If I ever find myself in your neck of the woods, I want a ride in that car.  Congrats!!!!!   :wowzers:

You did a great job, i can relate to your pain of trying to get stuff done with small children. Car looks fantastic

Thanks for all of the kinds words.  Some of you guys really crack me up.  I am humbled by what you said and honored to be on this forum.

I like how you guys dig the wheels.  It was the only cheap major change IMO.  I stole the idea and asked @303 Mopar a ton of questions, thankful he still likes me. @gravyboy 303 Mopar AKA dfrazz posted the info at  http://www.cuda-challenger.com/cc/index.php?topic=117873.0

I can give you more info if needed, like back spacing and tire brands.  I ordered the whole set from performanceplustire.com like 303 Mopar did for around $1600 shipped with tires mounted and balanced.  I went with 235's vs 245s up front as I wanted to be 100% confident they wouldnt hit on a crazy corner, plus I like the contrast.

@dodj great idea about the insurance.  Took care of that.  Was a little surprised at how quick and easy it was for Grundy to up the policy like 37k from what I had it insured.  Maybe I should go for more  as they increased my policy and the car was somewhat incomplete.

@1 Wild R/T you are impossible to tag.  Had no idea about the calipers, car came to me that way. Finally a brake, I mean break.

@autoxcuda I will be at the spring fling, but not with my car, I will be trying to sell a truck load of extra parts.  Its out of control what I have left over.

@nsmall I can't believe that I somehow missed this amazing post. You have definitely paid respects to some great and helpful people in this group. Many that have helped me tremendously. I personally met @Cuda Cody at the 2017 Nats in Carlisle after his work on this group reignited a sleeping passion in me. I had owned (and worked extensively upon) 7 E-Bodies until 1987 when life took over and I left the hobby, yet it never left me. I also bought a 73 Barracuda project from a coworker in 2016 after joining this group. I sold it (after completing most of the sheet metal work) after finding my 70 Challenger RT 440 project in June of 2018 and am currently working on its completion. I'm hoping to have it done next summer. You inspire me with your story and it goes deeper than a your amazing job on that car.  A child with autism, two little ones, foster kids you're a hero to, attempting adoption (sometimes heartbreakingly stressful to navigate). You sir, aren't just a restorer of beautiful cars, you restore lives of children.  This is a statement of who you are. I deeply admire you on all levels.  You sir, inspire me to the core.  Thank you!
