I also had to replace the panel that the Hood hinges attach to on the inner fender.  It wasn't too hard a job.  Course I can say that since I'm not the one who did the work, but I watched as it was done.   Sorry about the pictures being in reverse order, I had o search for them and they were out of order.

Mrbill426

Some more teardown pics...

If anyone sees anything along the way that does not look right please speak up  :please:

Carpet's out

Surprised to see black seam sealer.  Makes me wonder is it was repaired later on.  Or is that normal from factory?

Probably the worst part of the passenger compartment floor

Trunk not so pretty

Looks like roof patch or somthing  :dunno:

And from below, a thin piece of scrap sheet (tin?) held in by a bolt?
:notsure:  Does that exhaust hanger look right?

Chryco Psycho

repairable at least .
the exhaust hanger was through the trunk floor originally so they adapted using the frame rail instead , not factory though

I agree its repairable, but disagree on the exhaust hanger.

I believe I have seen a post on that other board, indicating that those types of exhaust hanger was correct for the later year cars.

Neal, we've both probably forgotten more than we remember at this point...

Only reason I know about these is cause those brackets are laying out in my shop somewhere & I see them every few months...

Mrbill426

This is what is left of the hangers I took off the car

anlauto

The top two are not correct 1972 E Body exhaust hangers :alan2cents:
