70 Challenger Trunk Trim Clips

All,
Please review the attached image of the clips used on my 70 Challenger survivor car trunk trim.  Are these typical of what was installed at the factory or are they an aftermarket design?  Should they be clips with studs that accept PAL nuts?  I'm looking to address some minor changes to the car over the years and get it back to factory correct.  These clips are not shown in my fasteners book.

Pictures below show what was on my '70 Challenger when I took it apart (right) and the replacements that I bought (left).  I think I bought the replacements through Roseville.

One of the restoration gurus here will have to confirm whether the ones on the right are the original correct type.

I've only seen the ones that have studs held on with nuts but I've only taken two of these cars apart so maybe the other style was used later on?

Usually studs and nuts on a 70 model, but either style will work :alan2cents:

The pic is helpful.  I suspect the clip on the right of your pic is original.  It's the same as one of the clips that was in place.  I'll start the search for some originals.

Do you need originals? Most of us use the repo replacement style. I'm not even sure anyone could see the difference once installed.

Yes I do.  Original nuts as well.  I'm one of those nut cases that wants to keep everything on the car original.  It made it 28k miles in nearly 50 years.  From 1992 to today it went 5k miles.  Its a time capsule for the future.

Too bad I tossed all mine. They were actually in decent shape. Sorry I can't help.

If your car is a low mile survivor, then what makes you think the clips used on the car are not correct ?

The sole purpose for starting this topic was to attempt to confirm that.  So far, the responses suggest the clips I posted are not original.

I have 6 of the "original" clips (those on the right in the photo above) and 2 of the nuts that came with them.   They're yours if you want them.   Just PM me your name and address.

I would agree but whose to say they weren't out of those clips that assembly day and just used something from another pile. Shortages happen in assembly lines and I can't imagine them shutting down the line for days or weeks until they "correct" clips came in. I'd bet money they were original to your car though not normally used on the 70 models.

That's very possible.  Someone with a car built around May 5th might be able to help confirm that.  Thanks for all the responses.
