Hey all, does anyone happen to know the acorn nut size that goes on the back of the Dodge letter studs on the rear of the 72-74 Challengers? I have the big fastener guide but unfortunately nothing is listed for them. At the moment they're being held with the strip caulk but would like to get the correct fasteners lol.

They are pink plastic retainers.  You put the retainers on the "pins" first, then push the letters onto the tail panel.

That would explain why I couldn't find them. Thank you for the help! Already ordered and in the mail.

Not trying to be judgmental or anything...but isn't that a AAR Cuda spoiler on your Challenger ? How well did it fit ?

Fits perfectly actually when I bought it from Dales Cuda Shop years ago. But they had Challenger TA ones listed then for it. Which is what was delivered when I got it.

The fun thing of having a non desirable non numbers matching car haha.

The nuts take a 5/16" wrench. Don't really know what the pal nut size is called?

We used to call them "speed nuts" and they were, and are, on my '74 as it came from the factory.  :Stirring:

The plastic retainers should be correct.  It's a PITA getting your hand back in there to attach a nut.  A factory is all about "ease of installation".  It's much quicker to push an emblem in a hole then it is to attach nuts on each one.(especially ones that are behind the latch bracket)

If speed nuts were ever on the emblems, there would be threads cut into the pins.  There were no threads on my original letters.
