Color of seam sealer used on trunk floor seams

I epoxied the new trunk floor.
The seam sealer color used around the inside trunk seams should be white, correct?

The old sealer between the floor and extensions and along the inside of the wheel wells/trunk floor would also be white.
Under the carpet the seam sealer was a thicker black putty type sealer and would be different.

Mine seemed to be a whitish color. I recall it being off white but that could be age. However, all my seam sealer was painted the body color. I don't recall seeing any that wasn't painted.

I went back to the pictures of the original, rotted out trunk and it appeared to be white or an aged white.
I epoxied the floor with several coats and then intend to paint the trunk Y1 as appropriate over the floor and new seam sealer.

Pro-Form sells "off-white" , that's what I typically used. Wurth has a nice product too, but it is bright white.

Mine was an 'off white', but does it really matter seeing as it will be painted anyway?

Yes: Off white I believe. After 50 years it's off anyway.

Not worried about white/off white as it will be painted w factory Y1.
I picked up a tube of black 3M seam sealer without thinking about it. I will use it on the interior floor and side seams.
Any variation of white should be fine.

As an option, you could consider using the varied bonding kits as a sealer, as well. While I used a fair bit of Proform 214 and 224 I believe; I also used the 3M 8115 or 8116 products and they not only seal, the bond, for what it's worth. Just another option.

Ya, you're like a kid with a bottle 'o' bubbles. Slopping it everywhere...

Have to tell you, the original sealer was covering up some really sloppy welding from the factory. It was about an 1 1/4 wide between the trunk floor and trunk extensions.
Looking to see what others would recommend!
