Cowl to hood seal ?

The cowl to hood seal I bought did not have the clips installed so the fun starts is the V (open end) of the seal face forward or backwards( to the Windsheild) ??

Are you 100% sure?
It's a high pressure area and the pressure is coming from the windshield down to the cowl openings....not from the engine compartment....

I'm not saying I know which is correct..just playing devil's advocate here.

Here's another couple originals.  First one is an original seal I cleaned up to install on my car and the second one is the original hood from my car with the seal still attached.

I'm not sure how the reproductions are made but if you have an original, due to the shape and cuts there's really only one way it would want to go on.

Come on dude....He is asking about the cowl seal....

Oops...that's my fault...The picture I posted shows both so that might have been where the confusion came in. Either way, both the rad and cowl seals attach with the open "V" pointing towards the front of the car...

The rad cradle seal with the v forward makes sense to me. Air pressure would improve the seal.
With the cowl seal,  which side sees higher pressure is not so clear to me.  They have cowl induction because it is a high pressure area.... :dunno:

The V to the front is correct.  If the OP still has his original seal, I'd use it instead of a reproduction.  They suck...both the hood to rad and hood to cowl seals.  The reproduction seals are smashed flat and don't hold their correct shape.  I destroyed my original cowl seal taking it off so I had no choice.  I reused my original hood to rad seal though.  The rubber cleans right up if you use a tire cleaning product.  I used Wesley's Bleche White.

if i had the one that came off ,but the body shop ( that did not do what he was paid for). also do the clips go in the thin or thick side of the seal ?   :looney:

Then that's the way the new DMT one will go on. Allan, and a host of others agree with you. I've had it the other way for a long time. Not that I think I will notice a difference when driving the car..lol

If you put it on with the V open to the front it might slow your car down....catching all the air... :'(
