I know some Challengers had rolled fenders. Can somebody tell me if this rolled fender lip is normal for a '70 Cuda 340?

Keep yer foot in it

Looks like an NOS fender?  Many of the first run NOS fenders were made with rolled lips.

:iagree: many of the NOS parts were a one size fits all

AFAIK rolled fenders were only factory "correct" on hemi'cudas although there are some others that have them

Would NOS fenders have the holes pre-drilled for wheel opening moldings?  I really don't know, just asking.

No, the NOS fenders when new would not have wheel lip moulding screw holes - most wheel lip screws were of the self-drilling type with a waxy sealant in an attempt to provide rust protection to the bare metal created

anlauto

No it's not normal to find that on a 340 Cuda.
The world is still on the fence as to whether or not AAR's had rolled fenders, but only Hemicudas got them....or supposed to have got them.  :alan2cents:

Dan, is your pic the right screw for 70 or this?  Also, I thought the rolled lip also was related to the 15" wheel size.

the pic I posted was just a wheel lip screw example, I don't know what the "correct" '70 screw is

the "rolled" lip E-body fenders were created for the 15x7.0" wheel & F60-15 POLYGLAS GT tire combination (STANDARD HEMI E-body combination), it was not necessary with the 15x7.0" wheel & E60-15 tire

the "TRANS AM" cars were originally proposed with 15x8.0" wheels & H60-15 tires all around, modified to 15x7.0" wheels & G60-15 tires, then finally to E60-15 Front & G60-15 Rear that the cars ended up with

there would've been a a larger flared or radiused front fender required for a H60 or G60-15 front tire - the second tag was probably "TRANS AM FENDER" before the bean counters & SCCA unit requirements resulted in the BIG tire & wheel package getting the axe

I have the original fenders for my AAR, the fenders were rolled.

My AAR has the original fenders and the Lips are NOT Rolled.

The NOS fenders I bought for my Challenger from the dealer back in the early 80's were marked as 1971 T/A fenders that do have the rolled center area of the lip, and no, the wheel lip molding screw holes were not there.
