Hey all, I need to get my hinges rebuilt and am planning on sending them over to avatar_MoparLeo @MoparLeo for the rebuild.

I have a second set of hinges I picked up along the way- I am wondering if I should rebuild the extra set I have and swap them out when I am ready, or is it worth it to swap them now and rebuild the hinges that are original to the car (as far as I know)?

I am probably overthinking this like everything else, but wondering if anyone has experience replacing a door hinge and having fitment issues after the fact?

I'm not sure if those are date coded. I would try to keep the originals with the car if they are the originals.

A few things to consider
- if dates matter, some or all of the door hinges have date stamps, perhaps the dates on your spare set align with the cars build date?
- reinstalling and aligning the doors can be a difficult task depending on the tools and/or extra set of hands available.

I will say that Leo is fairly fast in his turn around times, 3 weeks on mine.

Do you know if the secondary set of hinges are good?
Will they sag more than the original ones on your car currently?
I would say, rebuild the spare set, install them for the time that you rebuild your original date coded set and then put your original parts on the car and have a spare rebuilt set in the parts bin.
3 weeks isn't too long to have no doors on your ride.  maybe and perhaps.

Been down a while, broken toe,bad ankle sprain. About 3 weeks wok waiting. Hoping to get DR clearance next Wednesday.
Much more to hinge function and parts than pivot pin replacement.

Thanks all!!

Well, you all sort of confirmed my first thought - the easy path is usually not the one I take - I am going to swap the hinges and put the spare set I have on the car for temp use and have the ones on the car rebuilt....

A little more work but might as well, that was the initial plan and why I picked up a second set anyway, I just didn't have room for the doors to sit around off the car
