Every time I look closer at my car I find more warts  :crying:

I've noticed that the doors are not in the same place fore and aft on each side, relative to A-piller and drip rail.  I know it took a hit on the passenger rocker/ forward door jamb area.  Panel alignment on the passenger side is a mess.  Driver side better but obviously not perfect.  So the first pic is of the passenger side and second of the driver's.  On the passenger side it looks like the door is 3/8-1/2" closer to the back of the car than the driver side.  On the driver side there is nearly no gap and the door trim hits the drip rail.  I'd like to know what that gap/alignment should look like.  My google search didn't go well.

For the life of me, I can't get the second pic to load with the correct orientation.

Anyone?  I'd like to see a couple pics or good description of what that gap should look like.

Here's mine.  Happy Thanksgiving

Remember there's a lot of play (adjustment) in the doors, fenders and hood so that everything will align with the quarter panels.  The quarter panels is what sets where everything is going to land once it's put on.  The saying at the factory was "Only god can see both sides of the car at the same time".  :bigthumb:

gzig, to be honest with you, your passengers side door alignment at the pillar looks better to me than the drivers side.  it looks to me like the drivers side door is too far forward.  It's hard to really see it in pictures.  Wish I was there in person.  I do see the difference and yes, that would bother me too.

Thanks for the pics.  Very helpful!

I agree the driver side needs to move back a little, and I have room for that, I think.
The passenger side is a mess. Not sure what they did but I will be starting a thread on it shortly to elicit some opinions on best way to proceed.  I can see that the front door jamb has been beaten out, the rocker is messed up and first 12" of weld at the pinch separated, and the rear quarter at the door jamb has been buttered up to where you can't see a panel lap in the jamb.  Had a frame guy look at it quick but not on his table and he thought the car was straight and safe to drive as-is, but I need to take care of it before anything else major gets done.
