Blackout painted awhile back, sprayed the exterior grille today with light argent.
Only problem was the can nozzles would not spray , had to get a nozzle from another can, different brand so it was just large enough in the can hole to stay on when pressed.
Had to keep switching between three nozzles to finish the can.
Temp was just above recommendation of minimum of 68°.
Also called Totally Auto and they are no longer selling paint, PPG problems.
Painted light argent in case of if wanting to change to dark argent later.

Yes, the paint looks good on it, only one small run.
What a difference the look will be now.
Had just enough paint with two cans, Totally Auto is no longer selling the paint.

@usraptor , I didn't have to do as much PlastiFix repair on mine as you had done, good job on your repairs and grille work ,but would use it again for repairs.

Thanks, the Plasttifix worked well, I just had to be patient with it and build up it up because most of my cracks were pretty severe.  The argent grill totally changes the look of your car from the green grill.  Looks really good.

When the instructions said a drop at a time , I thought that's crazy , then verified by watching YouTube.
I understand now why it is done like that.

Yes, should look much better, not just because closer to original , but good contrast also.

Just wanted to send a thanks out to Totally Auto who supplied the argent paint, I called them on late Saturday to talk about a problem with the spray bomb nozzles I was having and they returned the call today to discuss.
I was able to make everything work on Saturday so it wasn't a problem to not get a quick return call and didn't expect one at that time, just wanted to inquire if I was doing something wrong like too close to minimum spray temp , I was real close 1° above minimum.
Very satisfied with the paint and call back time .

Test fit and comparison.
Actually it's no comparison.
Clean up the bolts and screws next.

Nice job.

I kind of like the color keyed version though even if not correct.  It goes well with your painted bumper.  Are you changing the bumper back to chrome?

My 72 cuda, basin street blue, has a painted grille but as far as I know it was not delivered that way.

For now , will leave the painted bumper, the hood and bumper surrounding the argent grille look balanced now.
I thought the colorkeyed grille looked good before but the argent contrast looks way better . Same idea like they have the small bit of red on the insert .

The color keyed grill looks fine but it's a LOT of green.  It needed something else to break up the color.  You could have added the V21 hood blackout option but then your 71 style side graphics would have looked out of place.  The argent grill looks good.

73440

Exactly .
Will have to find a source for the argent paint as Totally Auto said EPA regs have caused them to stop selling it.
Need a couple touch up places where the gills were taped off. It's on the backside so not major problem.

Finally completed the grill re-install today.
Missing one upper grill clip is all , actually a couple of those clips look like the wrong style .

I think that looks a lot better. I suppose it was just too much green before. Looks terrific.
