Getting ready to take my car in for some metal work and I know there have been some holes drilled in the chassis / body for various aftermarket things (holes in the floor for aftermarket seat tracks, some in the firewall / radiator support)

Is it worth tracking all these down and having them filled or would you do the obvious and call it a day?  Not a concourse restoration, but as we all know, if you are going to do it now is the time

Probably depends more on your long-term plans. With mine it's getting passed down to my son and I don't want him to have to deal with it in the future so I'm having it all done now while it's torn apart going into paint. If I was only planning on keeping it for a few years and getting rid of it, it would be debatable to put that extra money into it but that also might affect what I get back out of it down the road, so it's a bit of a toss-up.
The only thing flat earthers fear, is sphere itself.

I would fill them and have the welds polished smooth. Quite easy to do at this stage and on a restored car they will stick out badly.

I agree that you should fix them now while the time is right.

I am not so worried about cost as there is not much (that I know of).  I was more referring to whether or not I should take the time to comb over the entire car once apart and verify every hole is supposed to be there- the obvious ones sure, I will take care of those, but I am by no means an expert so is it worth the time to bother with anything other than the obvious?

As my wife likes to point out, my communication skill are not always the greatest in describing what I mean :)

It's pretty easy and not much work to fix the holes now.  The ones on the rad support and firewall will stick out when your done.  Best to do it now if it was me.

On a mission to get the car into the body shop for some minor metal fab so need to get to work this weekend organizing and tearing it down - I will be back with questions to validate any holes that look suspect!

Thanks for the input!
