Hood hinges hole locations

I have a 70 Challenger that is being restored. The metal and paint work is being completed by a friend out of state. The inner fender on both sides had a patch over the area where the hood hinges mounted. The area was partially hidden by the hinges, but it seemed a little weak and we decided to repair it. Once the patch was removed, this was the mess that was behind the patch (see photo). 

We are wanting to repair and reinforce the hinge area on the inner fender. I was hoping somebody could provide the measurements for the front hole location and possibly a couple of photos. I just want to be sure there is enough travel to allow the hinges to be adjusted up and down.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Not sure this helps, but from the passenger side of my '70 'Cuda.... center to center 58mm...
Mine is missing the captured nut... going to pull the hinges off and can take some better measurements if it helps

Yes, that really helps. If it's not too much, could you also get the distance from the top of the inner fender down to the center of the front hole.

He has fabricated a reinforced plate that he welded in. I'm just trying to avoid problems down the road.

I will try to go by today and take that measurement - I have to have my inner shock tower repaired and my fabricator said might be easier to replace the panel than repair - AMD panel is about $200 - sometimes cheaper than all the fabrication to repair a trashed panel

Just did this repair on mine. Slot is about 1 5/8 down from the lip.

Hey guys, this is exactly what I needed. I can't thank you all enough. I'm sure you have more pressing issues, but I do appreciate it.

I @Indiana Challenger Guy did you already have the front captive nut to weld in place or did you source a replacement - I am in need of the nut and retainer for the front bolt hole location.

Also need the captured nuts for the rear, but found a source for those I think....

No I don't have the captive nut for the front hole. He cut the heavy plate and I believe he's going to weld a nut on it. It's not OEM, but at this point I'm more concerned about functionality. This entire process has been a big learning experience.

I thought about using patch panels but just used flat sheet stock. I got a 3'x3' sheet for a fraction of the price of the patch panels and it givse me additional metal for other repairs/mods, like frenching in my side marker lights on my '74.

I did put a thicker gauge metal in this particular spot, so welding it to the thinner sheet around it was a bit tricky, but I got it all melted together.

I did remove the captive nut from the original metal and put it and the retaining tabs into the new metal.
