Stripped off the paint on the hood and found some interesting and poor repairs and rust under the bog.

Challenger hoods seemed to take a bit of a kicking. I've had to have a few repaired over the years. More than one has been bumped into something by drivers parking by feel it seems. Either that or water/condensation runs down and takes out the leading edge. The leading edge shape has to be perfect too so when you look at them front on the opening has the correct profile.

I think I welded about 150 studs on that hood to pull the dents out. Someone must have used a ballpeen
hammer to try to get the dents out. It was dented like that all across the front 1/4 of the hood. It should
have been scrapped but I like a challenge. I took a lot of body filler out of that hood. Probably 10 pounds worth.
I think it may work now. The hood was one I got for free.

Something about the stopping ability of cars of that era....my hood had a variation of the same theme.
