Paint Sealer info?

Doing bodywork on my 70 Cuda. Im doing it with the help and guidance of a long time auto mechanic and paint veteran. I plan to have it sprayed by a pro though. I will use PPG Concept DCC 2136 Ralley red. My friend says he's never used sealer before, he's old school. Too old. What sealer is recommended over high fill primer?

I use DPLF epoxy primer on bare metal and it can also be used as a sealer.
