Question about prepping new fender

Getting ready to primer my new parts.Can you just scuff the edp coating or do you go to bare metal?

Either: I personally like taking them right down to bare metal but lots of guys just scuff them.

Amd parts have the best EDP coating of any after market parts I have ever worked with!!! If that is what you are working with, I would 320 and go. Etchprimer any bare metal, seal it, and paint away.

There was a issue with Goodmark EPD failing under the paint a few years ago. My paint rep told me about it. AMD I just buzzed over it with 180 and primed.

I was told get a rag with some lacquer thinner on it and rub it on the EDP coating. If it rubs off take it all off. If it doesn't come off then just scuff it.
