70 Challenger R/T (383 4 Speed).  I'm in the middle of a complete restoration. Vehicle has original front torque boxes but no rear torque boxes. Will be upgrading to 440 block. Vehicle is a rolling shell. No interior, has rear and front suspension only. What is the correct way to weld in the rear boxes which was purchased from vendor "resto Rick"?  Do weight need to be added or is it ok to weld in as is with jack stands on front and rear suspension?

Good to go as is IMO , longer supports like the subframe connectors are more critical but the rear TQ boxes are in a small area .

Hi.... I've just installed USCartool SFCs (contoured to the floor)... with the car's weight on all four tires, and the corner weights "balanced" for best handling.  It was a hassle and a dirty job... but amazingly, its made a difference with rigidity!  Something I should've done many, many years ago!   I haven't yet installed the front and rear Torque Boxes... they seem tricky to do so.... will eventually get it done soon.

Not to alter this thread, but a Question: Did the factory ever have FRONT Torque Boxes?  I've only seen REAR factory torque boxes.

Yes, the factory did install them on the front. Here is the front passenger side torque box on my 71 Challenger convertible.
