I had purchased this oer passenger side mirror. as I tried to disassemble it for paint prep, i broke the side mirror that came with it. does anyone happen to know how to get the base of the mirror off from the frame?

Drill a couple of access holes to get at the screws  :dunno:

The mirror backing has a post that is press-fit into the racing mirror casting. The mirror base has the one screw attaching the base to the housing.

I got mine off by placing something soft on my bench , then I grabbed the mirror facing down and hit it flat on the soft bench, I did that a few times and the post released. That post is just press fit and knurled.

The later ones are screwed on, totally different then that.

yeah, this one was pressed fit. I broke it [emoji23] Found out by drilling it out. I installed a rivnut and ordered a ball head bolt. I'm going to try and see if it can be fixed that way.
