Does anyone make just the hood scoop for a TA? It looks like a flat steel hood is the same.  I know they stopped making the TA fiberglass hoods a few years ago has anyone picked that up now? Could you use a flat hood and put a TA scoop on it?

You can still buy reproduction T/A hoods through various venders..

As far as quality and accuracy, not sure which reproduction is the best, can't help you there..

Years ago Scott Smith and a partner of his offered an all metal T/A scoop.  You might check with him.

Lots of places to buy the TA hood
AAR fiberglass if you want a good fiberglass TA hood.  :alan2cents:

You can get just the fibreglass scoop from a few sources as well.

I guess the info in was more looking for was is the flat challenger hood the same design as a TA hood? Other than the scoop , bracing and it being made of steel vs fiberglass. If the tops look the same then has anyone used a steel hood and put a TA scoop on it?

Cowl screens instead of slots are a pretty big difference.

:alan2cents: Depends on what you are after as far as originality. IMO, a steel hood on a TA wouldn't look right.

I was thinking my next car might have a more modern twist to it like modern motor ect. I was thinking a TA clone. Was trying to figure out if you could put a ta scoop on a steel hood and make it look good. Paint it black. You would have to change the vents as stated, but that wouldnt be that hard at all to do.

It has been a while since I saw one around here, but I remember seeing cracks around the base of scoops that were grafted onto flat hoods. So if you go that route, research to find out the best way to do it so it doesn't crack.
If it was me, and I had 900usd to spend, I'd call aar fiberglass.

I've thought about it as well. I was thinking about the steel scoop when Harms and Domingo were still making them years ago.  The T/A setup is so much cheaper and more user friendly than a shaker too.

Ideally a steel scoop would be perfect if I could find one.Are the new challengers TA scoops steel or fiberglass hoods?

Why even worry about changing the vents?  There is no such thing as right or wrong...correct or incorrect when building a custom car.  You can do what ever you want.  A T/A restomod would be really cool.  The vents would look just fine IMO.
