The adhesive is a beast.
Any recommendations on how to remove it with the least effort?

Go buy a big bottle of Goof off & a bunch of rags.... Soak a rag really well & lay it on the roof... let it sit for a few minutes.... Now grab your putty knife..... Repeat till done... Keep the rag wet, really wet... I remove aggressive adhesive at work regularly.... It's better to let the chemical do the work.....

You can grind it off but it'll clog allot of abrasive discs....

What Wild says. I did it 3 times last year, good luck.

3M General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner #08984  Takes it right off and doesn't hurt new paint.

The Goof Off worked so well.
Minimum effort.

Looks like the Goof-Off really did a nice job!  Another product that was suggested to me was Norton 82780.  "Removes adhesives, tar, grease, wax, body sealers, undercoating sprays, and silicone from most surfaces. Aggressive cleaner is safe to use on most paint applications. "

@Chris Pauluk  the tagging on tapatalk will work, but you need to leave a space after the tagging.  Do it just like you did and just leave a space at the end of the persons user name and it will work.   :bigthumb:

Wow, it does look like it worked when I took your post and quoted it, but I didn't get a notice because it was in a quote.  Also, in Tapatalk you don't get to see all the cool smileys?
