Has anyone thought of doing a Vinyl WRAP roof instead of the traditional vinyl top? Thoughts? Concerns?

Sounds like a slick idea.
Do they tend to hold water after sufficient use?
Do they chip when rocks hit the wrap?  Creating a hole where water can get in?

I saw a company at SEMA that did a wrap on their Challenger. It was very passable. I'll try and find their name.

It had a texture to it and everything.

They wrap the entirety of cars for color and graphics changes.
So sure...
Regardless of how good the image is, the wraps will not provide physical depth to the grain.

Interesting that it has a graining.
If it could match the dullish vinyl look I bet this could be a cool wrap for the look.
Would help to not need to garage or properly care for the vinyl itself.

For those of us tortured souls that have had the rather unpleasant task of installing a vinyl top on a 1970 SE, I think the wrap idea is very interesting. I'd have to see one in person first.

Here is a couple pics of a small roll of vinyl wrap I purchased as a test for the litany of items always floating in my head.
It does have an actual grain to it. Albeit the grain structure is small compared to actual roof vinyl.
I was wondering how this would look on an interior door panel that is trashed.
Patch panel and bodywork. Then add wrap to mimic leather texture.

I think it's a great idea and someone could do it in a solid color as well to simulate the painted roof option. B5 with a white vinyl roof would be a nice looking combo

That would be great to install on the dash pad if doing your own repairs to it.

Yes, kinda would be an all or nothing for the inside to match.

I've wrapped a few things, one of which was my 1150 and it was a real b^%$#. However a roof wrap would  be 20 times easier than installing a vinyl roof. I would sooner paint with proper materials than wrap but for specialized apps it's fine. Other's experiences may differ. I'm an idiot when it comes to cars and I don't think there's anything I won't try once it seems.
