Wanted: Touchup Paint in Aerosol Cans

I am looking for sources of basecoat/clearcoat or straight gloss enamel spray paint in an aerosol can. Specifically, I need to repaint a few items, e.g. battery tray, and do some minor engine compartment touchup. The color is 1970 In Violet Metallic/Plum Crazy Metallic (FC7).

Has anybody found a good source for touchup paint?

Most modern paint suppliers can mix any colour they have a formula for, and put it in a rattle-can for you. Call around locally or stop in a good bodyshop and ask them. Good luck

I've used a place called Automotive Touch up to get a variety of products for my late model vehicles. Their colors have been spot on for them. They do have listings for our era of classic cars as well, but I have not tried them for these products.  They sell bulk paint in pints, quarts, gallons, primer, base, and clear coat, spray can, and touch up bottles. Drawback to them is time to create and shipping must be via ground, so it can take several weeks to get product.

Of course, as pointed out above, any decent local paint supplier can probably provide the same. Pricing and delivery time will obviously be different.

I bought an aerosol can of FJ6 single stage from these guys for similar purposes.  Good match and very good customer service.  I believe they were involved with Totally Auto paints back when they were around.

Thank you for the feedback on automotivetouchup.com. I am going to check out a local auto paint supply first and will likely take in the battery tray for them to color-match some aerosol cans. Backup plan would be to order online.

I still have cans of Totally Auto's spray paint and it seems to last forever. I used their formulations of grille argent silver and Shaker argent with "pixie dust" during my restoration in 1998-2000. A few years ago I remember reading somewhere or maybe on a forum that Dave Ferro (owner) was retiring.

I did like jimynic suggested when I needed paint for my space saver air can holder.  I took the original to the local paint store. They scanned the color, did a couple of test sprays and when we got the correct shade of blue they put it in a spray can.  It now looks original and new.

I found a local PPG auto body supply shop and will take a part for them to match. Backup is to order online. Thanks to everyone for suggestions.
