It's a shame they don't want to finish the restoration  :'(

Looks like the hard stuff is done, they should finish putting it together and sell it turn key!
If it's worth anywhere near that ask, I guess I should feel good I turned down an 80K offer for my brown 4 speed super track pack example a few months ago.  No assembly required!  The would be buyer wouldn't budge off his offer and insisted it was all the money for my car.  I hope he sees this eBay listing!

that car will need a lot of work to get it -completely- finished. that being said, there is a huge gap between an average resto and oe gold.  i hear prices from 75k to a top of 150k for these cars.  mine is insured for more than that! i would think most hi end restored cars are traded privately and the real prices could be higher on those kinds of cars as i rarely see one for sale. there are only 250 chances to find one. how many are left?  how many are tucked away? the scraps are all that is left?

This being a column shift automatic, non-numbers matching, in a less than desirable colour...REALLY hurts the potential, and maybe why the guy had to pull the plug...

probably found out how much it really cost to do it correct and is cuttin his losses!

I think the:
NO SHAKER, NO 4-speed, NO "good" color, NO numbers engine/transmission, NO other exotic OPTIONS (louvers/spoilers/stripes), etc.   :pokeeye:
will keep this one low on the '71 SIX PACK R/T price ladder

great documentation of a rare LOW-BUCK & GO-FAST R/T, but the rest of the story hurts  :bricks:

...for the record...I like to colour,  :drooling: but it's not exactly "re-sale" red

Honestly I like the "off" brown and green colors.  I've seen enough high impact purple, pink, and glow worm green E bodies over the last 40 years to last a lifetime.  :pokeeye:
So cars like this catch my eye.
Very few share my convictions, so yes, -10 to 20% effect on the value for the rare island of unwanted toys color.

here are the build spec's for this car
- it also illustrates how these non-program cars are all 1 of 1 - find another SIX PACK Challenger R/T with these same 7 extra cost OPTIONS in "dark gold metallic" (w/o stripes)  :drinkingbud:

stuff i noticed:  No mention of cowl serial number that i noticed.   Hog wild on seam sealer in trunk, even applied to inner quarters it looks like.   I see spot welds on floor pan before it meets tail panel, not sure those should be there unless patched in?

anlauto

I like the messy seam sealer....the factory was never sparse on their usage....I hate restos with nice perfect clean lines of sealer  :barf:

I really like the colour but I'd miss the stripes and console on this one.
Factory wasn't tidy with their seam sealer but this application would force me to redo and repaint the trunk for sure. Gotta pull the VIN tag and redo it to, which isn't too big of a deal but telling of what's in store I think.
Lots more to be spent before this car is finished IMO.

Weird about the VIN tag....some people want them, untouched, left original etc....I think it looks like crap so I restore them unless the car's owner is very specific that he wants it left alone...to me...the idea of restoring a car is to make it look NEW  again... :dunno:

Not sure of the price, but I too love the oddball  colors.  It is so seventies and shines beautifully.  Column shift is a no go for me, but the car would be awesome when complete.  :alan2cents:

Also, the comments here are always interesting and helpful when considering my own resto
You can't buy happiness, but you can buy horsepower and that's kind of the same thing.....
