Pretty sure the Fender Tag will identify a 4-speed vs 3-speed or Auto. I get that to some the build sheet is the holy grail, but I don't really see the value for a vehicle that will be modified. As stated, just my opinion.

Umm...I beg to differ.  Buildsheet is massively important, regardless of the #s matching drivetrain.

BS tells you what options were installed as well as the color combo.  And most importantly, if the #s matching transmission is missing, BS is the only true way to determine if it's a real four-speed car, which can add at least 20% to the value.

Fender tags are faked all the time.

Again, true four-speed AARs are worth AT LEAST 20% more than an automatic.  Don't matter if the car is painted paisley with polka dots.

I agree: My R/T-SE had a really nice fender tag, really the only option I was concerned about was the 4 Speed and it having a legit matching VIN on it made me sure it was an original 4 speed car.

I'm not certain, but I think the car was in original paint when purchased and there could be a possibility the original poster has pictures of the original four speed floor ?

I saw this car a few years back sitting in Carlisle on a trailer up against the fence near Gate One for sale, pretty sure it was still in original paint at that time...

Ad looks good, good luck with your sale...Don't get too excited over eBay, it's just an advertisement exercise for exposure, hopefully you'll get a few serious nibbles  :fingerscrossed:

Thank you, I have had a lot of feed back. All good,  I have someone local that would like to come see the car.  He seen the car on Ebay.

RUNCHARGER

Good luck with the sale, I would expect it to sell.

At least you have another e-body. With the values we've been seeing lately, you have to wonder what these things will be worth in 10-15 years. Many of us may feel like we've hit the jackpot by cashing out now but it's going to be harder and harder to get into another e-body for a reasonable number.

I love that T/A you should be able to get some good money for it in this market.

I don't know what the long term perspective is. The people who love these cars aren't getting any younger. The kids these days aren't really all that in to cars. So I wouldn't bet on them escalating a lot in value forever. At some point the buyers with money are going to be shopping for other things.... not to mention the whole green energy thing trying to eliminate gasoline etc.

I hope I am wrong, I hope these cars maintain interest / value and there are future generations that can takeover the caretaker role with these classics. I am just having a hard time seeing it. I  going to enjoy mine while I can.

Looks pretty nice. If you get a serious buyer, they'll probably want to see the documentation/pictures of the bodywork that was completed at the AMD Center. For me, an AAR with original/NOS factory body panels makes a big difference in the value. In addition, all date-coded correct parts adds more value as well. In general, all of these things must be added up to determine the overall value.

Car-nutt

I agree. I have full documentation from AMD of the bodywork they preformed, and happy to pass along to the new owner.

Not necessarily. I see your point, but the buildsheet is not the be all, end all IMO.
Other dealer documents can prove provenance as well.

I do not have a build sheet for my TA, but it was a Mr.Norms car, so I got all the dealer and factory documents including the advance dealer shipping notice, which is the precursor to the monroney label (window sticker) and has exactly how my car was optioned; including the 4spd.
Obviously it will not give me the minute details the BS sheet would, like radiator type, shocks etc. but when dealing with a Trans Am car, all that stuff is standardized anyway and is called out as well on the advance dealer shipping notice.

You realize a window sticker is EXTREMELY rare compared to a broadcast sheet and you're very lucky to have yours
