I remember that story now....I thought the tan interior with orange looked familiar.

Why do they always have to add a shaker :headbang:

Thanks for digging up that info Ross  :worship:

Interesting.  So IIRC this is one of two '71 V-code 'Cuda projects that Rick had for sale back in '91 or '92.  Both non-shakers, both 4-speeds and both with brown interiors.

Both cars appear to have been sitting outside for a length of time.
What a shame as they probably were in beautiful shape to begin with.
There is surface/flash rust all over the engine compartment and underside.
The Challenger is in worse shape than the 'Cuda.
The Challenger has bubbles on the quarter panels and a quarter size chip in the paint with rust starting under it.
Paint on the Cuda is better but a little faded and weathered. The Cuda's roof is looking a little worn.
Neither of the cars run and they both would need a fair amount of work done to them to get them ready to even try to start.
I lifted the shaker assembly and there was water everywhere underneath.
The engine in the Challenger appears to be modified and has headers, aluminum valve covers etc.
Interiors on both cars seem to be in nice shape.
I didn't get a good look at the underside but they both appear solid.

...George's black car was beautiful  :drooling:

Rick used to have past and present cars on his website, but I don't really see that anymore. Is here a member here ?

I don't know if he is, but I just texted him a note with a link to this thread.

Man, I have to stop thinking about some of the cool cars that were available reasonably in the 1990s....

 Did you happen to get the cuda's fender tag?
The earlier picture is so fuzzy it would be nice to see everything to decode it.

That cuda is sweet!   I really like the t5 interior on just about any color.  Looks great on the ev2 paint!

45K ???        At auction?

Any guesses as to what it will bid up to ?

You think 45K is too low?
I'm not familiar with government auctions.

I would be curious of value/price estimates as well.

There are a number of local Mopar guys interested and some have very deep pockets.

I've been to Marshal's collector car auctions at Skipco before and they are a reserve auction.

They usually know the value of the cars and set the reserve pretty high.

I've seen the same Marshal cars go through the auction a number times.

It's been raining for the last few days and it just kills me to see the cars sitting there with their hoods popped open :'(

The emblems on the Shaker are broken(someone probably tried to steal them) and the shaker is sitting all crooked with water everywhere on top of the engine, the hood itself won't even close.

Has this car been through auction already then?  It's been outside for some time now.  Maybe it didn't hit reserve last time?
