I used to really like tubbed,big-tire cars. However, the allure of a one-trick-pony has since worn off for me. I like to go pretty well in a straight line, turn and go down the road at 80mph without a worry. I've not owned a "pro-stock" car, but it seems like it'd be limiting when it comes to long range.

Pro street cars drive really well. Just like a stocker. I drive mine a lot and its great and with the big rear tires it goes down the freeway no problem. Don't knock it till you own one.

Pro-stock on the street and freeways is dinosaur idiotic.

Thats probably the most unintelligent statement yet. Don't judge others because you can't envision what they enjoy.

Had this car over 35 years.  Firm feel up front, RMS in back.  Drives like a dream.

Please. I do "envision what they enjoy". My next door neighbor for ten years has a 69 Barracuda 440 and a 70 Challenger 426 Hemi. Both are tubbed door-slammers fastest time 8.9
Pro stock is withering on the vine. Fans support and are more excited about Funny Cars and Top-Fuel. When pro stock cars stopped looking like showroom cars is when their demise began. It has taken almost 50 years to run it's course.

That's all well and good, but I have no desire to try it. I do enjoy turning and my last run up to Oklahoma City and back managed 22mpg at ~83mph cruising speeds in my 'Cuda. While I'm sure a "Pro Street" car would have no problem doing that, it's just not my style.
