Did a search but couldn't find what I needed.....what is the correct plating for a 1970 AAR Cuda Hurst shifter Mechanism? I have had two restoration guys for shifters tell me different things. One said it should be silver Zinc and the other said it should be Phosphate and oil.  So for a Hurst 1970 shifter what is the correct 'restored' plating process?

If you send it to Hurst you get it back silver, but I think originally they were black, in my opinion...
I've taught you everything you know....but I haven't taught you everything I know....

Thanks, that is why I asked the question cause I got it back silver and it was pointed out to me that the color should have been Phosphate and oil. So I'm trying to see what is correct....if anyone can remember.
