So my 71 Cuda elastomer bumper has some damage.  A decent size chunk of the passenger side "ear" is missing.  I'm not sure if it can be repaired....Is a 70 the same or are there some subtle differences?  If they are different, I need to start looking for an original and if a 71 is not the same as a 70 my chances are greatly diminished of finding a good used one out there.  May need to go the reproduction route.

They are different. The 71 has an extra couple inches of material underneath where it mates up to the smaller valance opening.

Looks like a great car you got there  :bigthumb:  Yup each bumper for 70 is different from 71....the reproductions are nice :alan2cents:

Ahhhh...thought that might be the case.  I was looking at some pics online but it's kinda' hard to tell.  Thanks for the insight!

It looks like the part you need to repair is the same, 70 and 71. Is that correct experts?

Could you buy a reproduction and just use part of it to repair your original?

@Chryco are you able to repair this by putting the original bumper into your moulds?  That may a great option for the OP if you can.

Thats a shame...and to think I turfed this one about 15 years ago.
Had it on the ground at Carlisle and the Nats a couple years for $100.00 o.b.o with no takers....got tired of looking at it and moving it around.
