I've heard/read about differences in the front of the wheel opening on fenders that were on cars with 15x7 fronts but have never observed it myself. Does anyone have the straight scoop on that and the details of possible?

At some point early on in production, hemi E bodies were supposed to start getting fenders with the upper portion of the wheel well lip rolled to prevent contacting and cutting the sidewalls of their F60x15 tires.
I've heard a story that during testing at the Chelsea test track, a hemi cuda blew a tire during heavy braking tests and that is what led to this design change.
This is also why you see the "hemi fender" fender tag on hemi cars.
There has also been evidence that T/As and AARs were to get special fenders, but in decades of studying and discussion on this subject, I've not seen any evidence any Trans Am cars actually got anything other than standard fenders.

Very cool, thanks for that rundown.
