Think about all of the time and money invested in to created that "collection"...

If it was concentrated and focused he could have had a top flight A, B, C, and E body... Or even TWO to cover some variation (Cuda, Challenger, GTX, Charger)...

I'd rather have a couple extremely nice cars than a bunch of crap.

But, it was his money and his time and I am sure the guy was happy doing it.... So who am I to judge...

Some of those deals weren't too terrible. I like the little /6 Dart rag top. That'd be a fun car to put around Santa Cruz in. I wonder what happened in his shop, sounds like he was working on one of these cars and something happened.. Ugh...

Reading the article in Hot Rod it paints Mr. Reits  not as a hoarder, but more of a salvation guy. He was  picking up the more basket case side of the hobby from those ads threatening to crush cars if they didn't sell. While he did seem to have a broad range of years, looking at the limited number of pedigreed cars in his collection, it does tend to reinforce that he was simply snagging old mopars and had the space and means to do so. Unlike some hoarders, we was actively working on some of his cars that were most meaningful to himself. As a result of his efforts, there are a bunch of people out there who now have either great projects starts or a host of parts and they didn't have to take out a 2nd mortgage to get them.
