I recall seeing a discussion here about this car, maybe earlier this year, but can't seem to find it with the Site's search function.

Currently listed on Ebay at $160K BIN price.  I believe it has been for sale at this price for quite a while.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/124821162024?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160908105057%26meid%3Da6453105ada74b4394f64bbd4ef7465e%26pid%3D100675%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D15%26sd%3D124821162024%26itm%3D124821162024%26pmt%3D0%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2380057&_trksid=p2380057.c100675.m4236&_trkparms=pageci%3A08f1a655-f24d-11eb-9710-961adf4c9421%7Cparentrq%3Afea4634817a0a9d963661baaffeabb28%7Ciid%3A1

Reportedly sold last year, March 2020 for $93,500 at Mecum Glendale.  https://www.classic.com/veh/1970-plymouth-hemi-cuda-bs23r0b242344-WR0YqM4/

Classic.com shows this sale as their lowest price data point for Hemicuda auction sales in the last five years.  Is it just the NOM that allowed this to sell for $93.5K, or are there other issues with this car?

Any justification for the 70+% price increase over last years sales price?  Hagerty shows a decrease in value from January 2020 to now.

Trying to get a ballpark value estimate for a somewhat similar car.
Original R code car
Non original motor
Console automatic (don't know if it is #s matching or not)
Dana 60
No fender tag or broadcast sheet
Car is less original and in worse shape than the one in the Ebay add.
Probably a 50 footer paint-wise
Reportedly former drag car
No obvious rust issues
Interior looks OK but seat upholstery doesn't look original
Engine compartment painted black and contains a bunch of non-original parts
Reportedly driven within the last year.  Can probably be started, but would need some work to be drivable.

I could not find anything on any of the sites as well as google not having a match.
I'm surprised it didn't come up on any search engines.

If you list the vin when you talk about a car you can then go back years later and type in the vin and you will find the conversation again through searching it's vin on google or individual websites.   :alan2cents:

Maybe the 70+% adder is for the conversion from the original column shifted bench seat configuration to a nonoriginal buckets with center console setup.

when new it was bench seat, column shift, 3.23:1 open (NO sure-grip), steel wheel car, manual steering & brakes, with NO tips   :o  not exactly the OPTIONS that excite buyers   :alan2cents:

but it was a "lemon twist" 'hemicuda

My observation of the valuation of these cars seems to be dependent of several key factors: a) desirability of original color and options; b) originality of parts, components and body panels; and c) documentation and history.

As Dan stated, it IS a legit HemiCuda in a High Impact color ... but it didn't originally come with a whole lot of options. Looks like it has some decent documentation for it ... but it's hard to tell just how original it all is. Lastly, it's missing it's original engine ... and who knows what else?? Maybe it's had some major panel replacement too??

Cheers!

that is crazy that you could get a Hemi without sure-grip.  :notsure:

$3500.00. ???  Considering I paid $400.00 for my numbers matching 71 Hemi Challenger factory 4:10 4spd...  I figure $3500.00 is plenty....  When can I come by & pick it up???

Come by and pick it up?? I wouldn't want you to have to deal with Bay Area traffic! :stop:

How about a driver quality, automatic, NOM Hemicuda without a fender tag and broadcast sheet?  Still a real Hemi car, but I have to believe that the lack of documentation would hurt the value pretty significantly.  $75K to $80 or have I been smoking something???

For what you described, it's not out of the realm of possibilities. Last year, a '70 HemiCuda which was a virtual twin of the car featured in this thread, was for sale on Craigslist of all places for $80K. So yeah, it's possible.
Cheers!
