Coolant % in a warm climate

How did you arrive at 300mV? Wouldn't it be different depending on the materials used in building the engine? Like an all iron engine be different from one with aluminium accessories?

  • I've seen that number in new heater core boxes stating if you have over 300mV the warranty is void
  • I've seen many dealer and independent mechanics use it
