My 71' Cuda came with and still has the factory economy 2 Watt Music Master AM radio (Code R11) My question is: Should the antenna either a fixed or telescoping mast ?  I assume the cheap radio would come with the fixed mast and the telescoping would be for the cars that had the upgraded AM/FM so you could extend it out and get a better signal.....but I don't know for sure that's why I'm asking.
Thanks in advance for any and all help.

My early built '70 Challenger, new, had the R11 Music Master AM radio from the plant, and came with the telescoping antennae. I used to park on the street back in my apartment days, kids coming home from school would break off antennae's and use them for sword fights. So I replaced it with the '71 and up SS whip antennae. Then a few years later changed out the R11 for an R35 AM/FM factory roll dial Stereo w/ the 5 speakers.    Thanks,   Al

Telescoping. All my families cars back then came with the telescoping antennae with an AM radio. I distinctly remember my brother's 72 Fargo had one because when it got broken in 1973 and he went to the dealer for a new one they sold him a 1 piece and we noted the difference.

We have the R35 AM/FM and have a fixed antenna. Not sure if that is correct antenna for that radio in '71, but it is what came in the 'cuda.
It again proves you can never say never when it comes to figuring what came from the factory.

1970-'71 = telescopic antennae
1972-'74 = solid mast antennae
