Does anyone regularly drive their classic Mopar?

I put around 500 miles on my AAR Cuda last year - only on sunny dry days - has 71k original miles on it

I drove mine often, but not far, before I started tearing it apart - take the kids to sports, run to the grocery or Home Depot - as long as it wasn't too hot out - no AC and I have gone a little soft in my old age.

Not a daily driver due to single digit MPG, 3.91 rear gear, rainy spring season etc. so it`s just not very practical but I do drive it as much as I can (and can afford to at $4/gallon 93 octane. I usually put at least 1500-2000 miles a season which is April - October here in the Northeast. I`d love to have a four door, C-body or wagon that is more beater/driver quality to daily drive but that`s not going to happen.

I'll sale ya one.  Sounds like you need a plain jane.

I drive my 73 Challenger averaged once every two to three weeks. I don't take it out when it is wet outside. So may be once a week in the summer. Mostly around town, down to the coast and through the mountains. I don't do errands, stop and walk away from the car unattended when I take it out. These cars are far too easy to get stolen. I also don't drive it to known bad areas to minimize the chance of getting carjacked. Gas here at NCal is over $5 per gallon for 91 octane and I get 8-10 mpg city and 12-14 mpg on highway. 727 with 3.23 rear.

My goal is once a week but turns out to be more like once every 2-3 weeks.  If I do leave it unattended, it's only for a very short time and it's locked up with multiple devices plus a hidden airtag.  I try not to drive it during the weekend peak hours to avoid the crazy stupid drivers out there.

Ya, plain jane would be fine, would love an early-mid `70`s Plymouth Satellite or Fury wagon with a 318, 360 or 383. I had a `73 Satellite Custom 4 door 318 but I ended up selling it a couple years ago before I got it road worthy.

I have about 4400 miles on my Challenger since I got it back on the road in late 2020.   Most of that came in one shot driving it from NY to Texas when we moved here in 2023. I try to drive it at least once per week.

I try to get out at least a couple times a week. Drove to Carlisle a few times
( about 900 mile round trip) I don't take it out if I know for sure it's going to rain but if I get caught in the rain it's not the end of the world. They get wet when you wash them too! It just a bit of a pain to shammy off the water so it won't leave spots of the black hood. My goal is not to leave a perfectly preserved car for the next guy that pried the keys out of my dead cold fingers.
I will admit after getting in a mild fender bender a few years back, combined with all the development and people around I am more nervous taking it out.

I don`t usually take it out in the rain either but it doesn`t bother me if it gets wet.

Love to hear these responses. My goal is to drive the wheels off mine when I get it finished. I spent as much $$ restoring it as I'd spend on a new car and I plan to wring every penny back out of it.
