I'm looking for a donor car.   check every few days.
Can some of you who notice subtle difference's and also that do restorations give me some opinions on these few here.
I'm finding pretty good prices this month.  Must be due to this covid thing.
This is a donor car for my V code 70.

Rust bubbles under newer paint is a big red flag to me (purple car).   71 bodies use different doors and clips in the windows so might be best to find a 70 donor.  I bet the red car is hiding way more than meets the eye.  :alan2cents:

I'm not familiar with what parts your V code Challenger needs. Do you plan on parting out the donor car or are you just swapping parts and taking the old parts from the V code, putting them on donor car and reselling the donor car? If not reselling, then I'd be looking at what I could recoup on parting/selling everything I could from the donor car and whatever parts I'm not using, I'd want to make as much as I could, so I'd get the car with the best parts, including sheet metal I could sell. If you're using most of the donor car parts, then you certainly want the car with the best parts and that would be the least amount of rust. A western US car unless you need the interior. I've followed your post here and realize you have a lot of knowledge and what I'm telling you, I'm sure you already know. When I was parting Challengers in the mid to late 70s, I didn't see much rust and the interiors were pretty good. Times have changed. I wish you the best whatever you do.

My V needs everything.  So resale is not the consideration.
Transfer of everything is the key.

So like Cody said, 71 is out the window.  Just wanted to make sure of that.

Bubbles under paint is a red flag but if an interior is in great shape and a majority of the body parts are good I would consider.

Thanks for the opinions.

The red car would need a personal inspection, Bubbles under recent paint job is the tell tail sign of a stuff and buff dealer special.  :alan2cents:

The purple car has a/c so if you're needing to do any firewall repairs it would be best to find one without it.

Good point.  Thanks for pointing that out.  I had not thought of that difference.  No V's came with air conditioning.

Wouldnt it be easier to buy 25k worth of parts or are you wanting original stuff?

I wonder what AMD would want to do the metal work for you?

I would prefer original stuff.

AMD seems to be quite pricey to do the work with their products.  I've considered it though.
