Hey Everyone,
Continuing with my assembly and ran into a question about the door weatherstripping. The assembly manual shows a 1" overlap of the door seal and door end rubber portion, but doesn't explain how this overlap occurs. Can anyone provide pictures of how this supposed to be?
Thanks.
Kevin

Both the weather strip from below, and the end-piece above, have a v-shaped groove.  The weather strip goes against the door, behind the end-piece with the end-piece on top, aligning the v-shaped grooves.

Using your picture, I've marked the groove in red.

Excellent. Thank you sir. I didn't look at the back side of the door to lock pillar seal. It does fit together nicely.

Is that your car cuda hunter? I almost did the same. I almost trimmed the door seal to flush up to the bottom of the door and lock pilar seal, but the assembly manual shows a 1" overlap. After pschlosser mentioned them slipping together I looked at the backside (or inside) of the lock pilar seal and saw the slot that the door seal lays into. I will probably trim it slightly to make it lay a little better, but I think it works good.

FYI, from the looks of your image, you've sandwiched the groove closed, against the end-cap and door.  You can lay it that way, it's your call.  But maybe not, it's hard to see from that angle.

The groove we've been discussing should face rearward, not outward.  even in cuda hunter's photo, the groove faces rearward.

edit: on further examination, the rubber is probably right, likely stiff and will lay right with time.

Nice. I always hear about the M46 option on the Barracuda's. I've never seen one. 4 speed Barracuda, is that rare? Where in Colorado are you? I used to live in Windsor many moons ago.

I'm in Salida.  I think that's about 4.5 hours from windsor.
Isn't windsor, Fort Collins?
For some years I used to excavate Dinosaurs in Buckeye, Owl Canyon exit I25.  Found some cool stuff up there!

I wouldn't say "rare".  The M46 part is far more rare I think.  400ish made.
55,500 70 barracuda ebodies total produced.  Don't quote that number.
I'm sure (assumption) there has to be more than 400 D21 BH's out there.
Makes me curious.

Sounds (reads) like you are no longer in Colorado.
If'n you were near you are welcome to come by and look at some M46's.
Here is my wanted thread and the M46 list thread.  WANTED -----  M46
The M46 List
All my M46's are listed somewhere with the options and documentation.

Here is a pic of the first time I physically saw this fender tag.
And an updated pic.

In all honesty, It's a really shiny S^^tBox  compared to the majority of the guys cuda's on this site.  But I am thrilled to have an M46 that does scoot itself around in small jonts.

Not trying to clutter up your post.  Sorry about that.

Did you get the answers you need for the cuda weather strip?  I can go get pics of another example if you need me to.

Ouch. How dare you.  :haha:

When I lived there the front range wasn't Cali-rado yet. After it started changing, I got out. Moved to Cheyenne. I haven't lived in Colorado for over 25 years. Time flies.

Yep, all questions answered.

Don't feel bad about your car. Yours looks a lot nicer than what mine was for the first 30 years I owned it. Now reaching the 35 year mark and it's finally coming to the end of a 5 year restoration. You know the saying, drive it like you stole it, and enjoy it.  :burnout:
