1971's "PROMO" cars were "SCHEDULED" Sunday August 2, 1970 (802) but built later in the month
does the broadcast sheet show the J54 "sport hood"?

interesting that it's a N41/N42 383 4bbl car - an "ITEM" that was not available for regular production '71 (JH) Challengers (non-R/T) with the 383, although a couple of "PROMO" cars exist coded for them

mille

here is the broadcast sheet ,   I would like to hear what ever you can tell me about the car

mille

It still have the matching engine and gearbox  fitted and running  ,  but came with a flat hood

can you share the VON from your fender tag? Exxxxx ??   :clueless: E00214

unfortunately the broadcast sheet appears to be for an EXPORT "PROMO" Challenger two VINs before your car 1B100164 VS. 1B100166

fortunatetly the cars were probably IDENTICAL in every way!!

the "J54" was not an OPTION on the (JH) Challenger - but then again neither were the "N42" dual exhaust tips - so it was a flat hooded Challenger w/tips!!  :bigthumb:

My English is not good in writhing

mille

my mistake I typed 100166 in my first post, but the real nr is 100164 as you se in fendertag,  sorry

6bblgt

YES, "max-cooling" N51 & "trunk light" L25 were NOT normal orderable items on a 383 4bbl Challenger (they were part of OPTION packages) ***** they may have been local requirements where the car was shipped to new.

got it - now I see all are JH23N1B100164

could you get a N code engine in a 1971 non R/T  ?

6bblgt

yes, the N-code 383 4bbl engine was the largest available in the non-R/T Challenger for 1971

GG's "white book" shows 520 hardtops (JH23) & 167 convertibles (JH27) built to US specs with the N-code 383 4bbl
there would be additional cars built for CANADA & EXPORT

here's a road test of a '71 383 MAGNUM Challenger w/flat hood & tips (somehow it morphs into a FoMoCo product in one of the interior shots  :drunk:)
