This will be interesting because Gene Gregory was making them for the last two or three decades so a lot of people think his parts are original parts :alan2cents:

My brother has a few original cuda ones both for 70 & 71. (sorry, don't have photos) I am pretty positive that there is a difference for the front elastometric bumper. The rear elastometric bumpers are the same for both 70 & 71 cuda's.

As for challengers, both 70 & 71 years the elastometric bumpers I believe are the same for both front and rear.

1970 Challengers never came with elastomeric bumpers  :alan2cents: 1971 only.

1970 Cuda and 1971 Cuda are totally different to accommodate for the wider opening of the lower valance. :alan2cents:

Yes, Alan thank you for correcting me on the 70 challenger.

I'd love to know correct answer. But an original looks like this.

That bumper is a 70 Cuda front, but how do you know it's original ?
Have you owned the car since new ?

As the original poster asked.....How can you tell it's an original ?

It's just my unprofessional opinion. I'm eager to hear the secret answer. But plate was last tagged in 1990. The Mopar collector I got it from had a lot of original pieces in a storage unit. He advised the bumper has been in storage for approximately 25 years
