I found a dealership in North Dakota that closed down in the mid-80's and got to buy all the NOS parts inventory. What is crazy is that the parts inventory is totally untouched. They just locked the doors when it closed down, it's like a time capsule. This is what it would be like walking into a dealership parts room in 1985. We filled up over 40 large bins of parts. Been on the road for a week and going to start going through the stuff next week. Enjoy the video!

That's pretty neat to see, but what kind of value could parts from the 80's have ? Have you spotted anything of great value yet ?

Hopefully there will be more 60's & 70's era parts than K car tune up kits...

That's the thing, it's almost all pre-78 stuff.  My guess is Chrysler bought back all the newer stuff when the dealer closed.  Most of the boxes are pre-72 style.  Lots of mechanical bits like turn signal switches, ignition switches, etc.  Best pieces so far are two nos 6 pack filters (original style - orange rubber with circle holes) and an nos 1970 e body hp exhaust manifold dated 7-3-69.

Message me with requests and if I run across anything I will let you know.

Couple of things on what is there:

- They were a Plymouth Chrysler dealer only so not much truck stuff
- they did not have a body shop so not much trim/grills/finish panels/weather strip etc
- Spent 8 hours loading all this stuff and honestly did not have much time to actually see what was there. Was just throwing stuff in bins. Brought 40 bins and filled all of them. Going out of town this weekend with the fam so can't really get into the stuff till Tuesday, I'm like a kid on Christmas Eve who can't open presents yet.

Where you able to get the cabinets too or just the parts?

rocketresto

Got everything, cabinets, signs, parts, factory service tools.  The cabinets are full top to bottom with tune up parts, points, condensers, etc.

Great score: I too have scoured closed up dealerships only to find lots of FWD stuff only.

Cool cabinets; make great storage in a home garage!

Hoping you can compile an inventory list when you get time. I'd imagine most of thes to not be of e-body vintage, but if so it'd be a true mother lode.

That's my goal for this week, to try to get everything into an Excel spreadsheet and be able to share what I actually have.  Will be updating it throughout the week.
