Heater hose fender strap

I use the metal heater hose strap from 66-68 B bodies. Held properly for decades now. Attached a pic.

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but with all of your engine compartment pictures, where is the cable operated heater control valve located?/b]

Only the air conditioned cars had a heater control valve in the engine compartment. My non-a/c cars just have the air door to the heater core closed when heat is not on.

Thanks for everybody's thoughts. I'm thinking the 2 that I bought just weren't quality. The water temp shouldn't melt the plastic & the exhaust manifolds aren't close enough to effect it either. I will look at another vendor....Joe
