Trying to install new  bumperett's on my 71 cuda rear elastomeric bumper and find the threaded stud on the bumperett is not long enough if I try to install it with the backup washer/plate that goes behind the bumper. I can get a nut to thread on without the washer/plate and it seems like it would work fine but I'm an old school do it right guy.  The bumperett's are new repro's from classic industries, I am contemplating modifying them with a longer stud, cut, drill, weld careful not to discolor the chrome etc.  Anyone come across the same issue?
