Question: I was told by a distributor guy that the MSD Ready to Run HEI cap comes up close to the firewall on an E Body Cuda. Has anyone had this issue with an MSD distributor being to close to the firewall with an HEI cap and having problems getting clearance(wires)?  Sorry, I thought it sounded crazy but figured I would ask before I start installing the motor.  Its the MSD model 8388 RTR distributor for SB 340 Mopar

I can't answer from experience either, but why would it be any different than a stock dist. The cap is small diameter just like oe. If it were GM style with oversize cap, I could see where you might have an issue. Doesn't appear to me that the MSD unit will cause any issues, but I would call the MSD tech line and ask...

A distributor would have to be pretty darn big on a small block to hit the firewall.

Does anybody have a picture of a stock distributor in a small block E Body ? :takepicture:
I've taught you everything you know....but I haven't taught you everything I know....

The HEI Cap is massive compared to anything Mopar used But there is a lot of room back there on an E body
