new dynacorn 70 challenger body shell thoughts

so as it happens with most of our restorations, when were almost done, another "like" job is acquired because of it... so a current customer that we restored a pickup for seen my current cuda project , instantly he decided he wants us to do a 1970 challenger in the same way. my question is has anyone seen, or purchased these dynacorn brand full reproduction bodies? thoughts, good, bad, other wise?

I believe they have either stopped selling them, or only have a few left.  I talked to a rep there and they said that they sold so poorly, they aren't making any new ones.  So get it now!

I don't know anything about them but I would sure jump on it if I had deep pockets . I just read an article about a company in Oklahoma that makes "new" Mustangs out of old cars and even some from scratch from the reproduction Mustang bodies that are available. The Mopar world would most likely frown on that but sounds like a great idea in my opinion. There was a thread on this subject that came a few months ago. As I recall there are a number of parts that are not reproduced so that would present an obstacle/need for some donor car or parts to complete.  Hope you can make that happen that would be cool to see come together.

DII challenger body shell and skeleton are NO LONGER being made. even though they were assembled in California this decision was made over a year ago.

Not enough sales/interested to keep them going. Beside the fact of each state has its own registration procedures. And shipping was not cheap at all.

You would need a donor car to be able to finish it anyway. I saw a Camaro Body and the fit was pretty bad. Not sure who made that one.

Weren't these like $15-$20K??? When you consider how much more you need to add on to get a complete car I can understand why there wasn't a lot of interest.. You'd have a small fortune tied up in one of these when its completed.

about 15k.  all the shell needed was front end sheet metal. came with doors and deck lid. it would be about the same to replace all the metal on a car vs potentially buying a new EDP shell.

What I was getting at is by the time you complete the shell in to a complete vehicle you are talking serious coin. Not too many people will take that on.
