Could have been a number of things that failed , maybe it hydraulic blew the piston apart breaking the crank , not much to take home after that !!

looks like the drive got a pretty sever burn on his arm. he walks past the camera in the longer video.  Wouldn't surprise me if the passenger was hurt too.

But yeah that is an impressive boom!

You can see that massive turbo decided to leave the engine ahead of everything and still looks quite intact
